Intensive Moscow's Attacks Cut Power Throughout Kyiv

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were wounded while local people in the city's east were left without electricity and faced interruptions to water systems, per reports from city officials.

Meanwhile, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate assault in the southeastern region in the southern area, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has intensified attacks on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "concrete actions" from international partners to exert influence on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the major economies - in supplying air defence systems and applying sanctions," he wrote in a social media post.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty missiles struck the country's power systems, labeling such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes damaged power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.

Several of the people injured in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Local officials said the urban area experienced heavy assaults overnight. A minor was killed and multiple civilians were hurt.

The attacks come after periods of air raids in the territory, sections of which are occupied by Russian forces.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to spot.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to destroy the country's energy grid, with assaults already disrupting energy systems.

He said technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for more assaults.
