19 of Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his initial championship for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has had a torrid period, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and eventually separating with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the past month - peaking in a closely contested three-set triumph over challenger Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's first title after the Rome competition and first on a hard surface after that period of the previous year.
The win also signifies he has secured twenty-one titles at 21 distinct events.
"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my children together, so to secure a title is really nice," said ranked player Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six finals, including in that event previously this season.
The player's defensive approach and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had caused commentators to question if his capacity to compete at the top level was concluded.
However the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and perform aggressively, supported by an improved service.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging Frenchman, winning four of the concluding five games to take the lead.
The pair swapped service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his first professional championship, took control to push for a final set.
He saved 4 early-game break points in a tight third set before the Russian broke to fifteen to close out the victory.
Suitably, he clinched the win with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
